Kingsley Sullivan
Retired Business Owner
Kingsley Sullivan became an artisan baker by accident during what was probably a minor mid-life crisis. He started making bread at home in Melbourne while working as an account director for a marketing agency. The love of bread making grew and along with a love of making food for family and friends, Kingsley and his wife Chrissie decided to return to Perth and open their own food store, The Gourmet Grocer.

A chance meeting with the Benedictine monks of New Norcia led to the founding of New Norcia Bakeres in 1993 which, with business partner and friend Mark Young, became one of the most recognised and respected artisan bakeries in Australia. Kingsley sold the business in 2012.

In his retirement, he has rekindled his love for making sourdough bread by hand, cooking for family and friends and trying being present in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
