Specialising in small batch hand-dyed yarn in complex and surprising colourways, Dyed By Hand Yarns encourages the exploration of colour, pattern and possibilities.

Dyed By Hand Yarns is owned and operated by Julie Boydell, an enthusiastic knitter and former medical scientist who played with dyes at work. Dissatisfied with available yarns, the decision to dye was a natural progression. After some encouragement the results were offered for sale, and in 2012 Dyed By Hand Yarns was born.

Every step of the dyeing journey is important. Yarns are selected for their quality and ease of use, and also for high standards of ethics, sustainability, and care for the environment.

Years of refining dyeing methods means that the quality of the yarn is maintained to produce repeatable unique colour combinations. Every step is done by hand, ensuring that you receive the best possible product that can be created.
