About the event

Are your seams unseemly? At wit’s end with your yarn ends? In this workshop with Pru Raymond, explore five methods to invisibly sew up your knits, or make your seams a feature. Learn how to weave in ends simply and securely


What you will learn

  • Techniques for sewing up knitted pieces

  • How to create invisible seams that disappear into your fabric

  • How to make decorative seams that become a design feature

Materials and tools

What we provide:


  • Scissors

  • Pens and pencils


What to bring:


  • Wool or tapestry needle •

  • Crochet hook 3-3.5mm

  • Cable needle or spare 4mm needle

  • 3 x 8ply swatches in stocking stitch or garter stitch at least 10cm/ 10cm

  • A fourth swatch “live” on 4 mm needles (ie. do not cast off)

  • OPTIONAL: bring a garment that needs seaming.

Pre-requisite skills

This workshop is suitable for knitters of all levels.

What's included

  • 3 hours of expert instruction from internationally experienced workshop facilitator Pru Raymond of Dear Pru in a class of a maximum of ten participants

  • Afternoon tea including a light snack and tea and coffee

  • VIP 2-day pass to the Australian Yarn Show from March 7th to 8th at Hotel Realm including:

    • Australian Yarn Show 2026 Show bag

    • One coffee voucher per day (Saturday and Sunday) for barista coffee cart

    • One digital access pass to all the talks on the main stage


Please note that the digital access pass will not be activated until a couple of weeks after the conclusion of the Show.

About the facilitator

Pru Raymond has sold out knitting workshops and stackable retreats in yarn stores, knitting festivals and community centres Australia-wide, and in yarn stores on the east and west coast of USA.


Pru has worked as a qualified teacher for almost 20 years. She combines her expertise as a professional educator and her lifelong passion for knitting to develop original, engaging knitting workshops that are inclusive of all learners. Pru has an in-depth knowledge of diverse styles and techniques and demonstrates new skills in English, Combination and Continental Styles.
