About the event
Amigurumi is the craft of crocheting small, stuffed creatures and characters, and this workshop is your introduction to doing it well. Join Zac of Crochet Me Zaddy to build a project from start to finish, focusing on the details that make amigurumi look neat and professional: even tension, tidy increases, decreases and clean finishing. You'll leave with a completed amigurumi piece and the skills to design your own.
This class will teach:
A focus on foundational amigurumi techniques, with a sprinkling of more advanced techniques, designed to help participants create neat, tidy and well-finished amigurumi while building a strong foundation for future projects. This may include techniques such as bobble stitches, clean colour changes, correctly stuffing and finishing techniques, as well as more advanced techniques such as colour-changing bobble stitches, the seamless join and the invisible fasten off.

Zac (also known as Crochet me Zaddy) is a Melbourne-based amigurumi designer, content creator, published crochet author, and founder of Zaddycrafts, a yarn brand dedicated to high-quality yarns for makers. Originally from New Zealand, he learned to crochet in 2018 after stumbling across a crochet club at work. What began as curiosity quickly became a passion, leading him to launch @crochet.me.zaddy in 2020. Today, he creates crochet-focused content across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Threads, sharing tutorials, vlogs, behind-the-scenes business updates, product reviews, comedy, and educational content that helps make crochet accessible and enjoyable for makers of all skill levels. Alongside content creation, he founded Zaddycrafts to develop premium chenille yarns designed specifically for amigurumi, focusing on softness, durability, and consistency. He is also the author of Itty Bitty Amigurumi, a collection of 50 beginner-friendly, no-sew patterns designed to help makers build confidence while creating fun, pocket-sized projects.
