About the event
On a quest to find the perfect go-to sock recipe? This workshop is designed by Pru Raymond for knitters to explore a range of heels and toes, cast ons and bind offs. The destination? A personalised ‘itinerary’ to guide future sock knitting adventures.
This workshop is suitable for novice knitters who are keen to learn how to make socks or for more seasoned knitters who want more power and insights to customise their socks or design their own.
What you will learn
A range of heels and toes
A range of cast-on and bind-off techniques for sock knitting
How to customise your sock pattern
How to design your own sock pattern
Materials and tools
3.75 mm circular knitting needle with 80cm circumference or DPNs
100g DK sock yarn (NB a 100g DK Sock yarn is sufficient to make the mini sock in class and complete a full size pair using the recipe designed in class)
Wool needle
Stitch markers
Scissors
Pre-requisite skills
A basic understanding of knitting techniques is required for this workshop including knit, purl and basic shaping. This workshop is for beginners and above.

3 hours of expert instruction from internationally experienced workshop facilitator Pru Raymond of Dear Pru in a class of a maximum of ten participants
Afternoon tea including a light snack and tea and coffee

About the facilitator
Pru Raymond has sold out knitting workshops and stackable retreats in yarn stores and community centres Australia-wide, and in yarn stores on the east and west coast of USA.
Pru combines her expertise as a professional educator and her lifelong passion for knitting to develop original, engaging knitting workshops. As a qualified teacher with almost 20 years' experience, Pru's workshops are supportive, engaging and inclusive of all learners.
Pru has an in-depth knowledge of diverse styles and techniques and demonstrates new skills in English, Combination and Continental Styles.
Pru also designs and publishes knitting patterns, freelances for knitting magazines and has produced a range of knitting themed books which are available on Amazon globally, and stocked in select yarn stores.
