About the event

Get full on with Fair Isle with Pru Raymond. Develop techniques to make your colourwork stitches pop, and your floats so beautiful, you’ll want to wear your jumpers inside out. Learn to slice your knitting open like a pro, and add bands and cuffs. Leave with a new level of confidence to cast on more advanced Stranded Colourwork projects.

What to bring:

  • Needles: 4 mm circular knitting needle with 80cm circumference for Magic Loop, or DPNs

  • Yarn: 2 x 50g balls of 8ply/DK non-superwash yarn in solid/semi-solid colours with high contrast (one white/very light yarn and one mid to dark yarn)

What will be provided (for classroom use only):

  • Scissors

  • Pens and pencils

This class is designed for knitters to improve and extend their Stranded Colourwork skills to include better yarn management strategies, consistent colour dominance, catching floats (how, why and when), and steeking (‘unfinished’ method). Experience of Magic Loop recommended but not essential.

  • 3 hours of expert instruction from Pru Raymond in a small group setting

  • Afternoon tea

  • VIP 2-day pass to the Australian Yarn Show from March 6th to 7th at QT Canberra including:

    • Australian Yarn Show 2027 Show bag

    • One coffee voucher per day (Saturday and Sunday) for barista coffee cart

    • One 2027 digital access pass to all the talks on the main stage
