Handmade by Catkin is fun by Caitlin, a Fibre artist, dyer, crafter and maker, and avid supporter of other fibre artists by providing quality tools, hand dyed yarns, fibre and notions needed for fibre artists. Our tenants are based in sustainability and accessibility, where sourcing fibre and yarns that provide unique blends and options for makers, and provide environmentally sustainable options as well. I am a championship winning hand spinner and I am an advocate for heritage crafts, including teaching the history of crafts, and how the threads and skills of historical crafts can be woven into the tapestry of modern fibre arts practice. I believe in teaching skills and techniques that can be accessed by anyone, regardless of previous skills, budgets or experience. I have previously taught workshops for Canberra spinners and Weaver's and willow vale wool in spindle spinning, and I actively demonstrate spinning at historically themed events.
