About the event
Discover the relaxing and rewarding art of punch needle in this hands-on 3-hour workshop, designed especially for beginners.
You'll learn the fundamentals of punch needle in a relaxed and supportive environment, with plenty of individual guidance throughout the session. You will be shown how to set up and use your punch needle, work with the materials and create different textures and effects.
You'll then begin creating your own piece using Pi Williams' Sunset Bloom punch needle pattern. With Pi, you'll work through the techniques together as you build your design, with guidance along the way to help you gain confidence and enjoy the process.
You'll also get an insight into Pi's creative process and how she uses punch needle to create her original textile artworks.
No prior experience is needed. Whether you're completely new to punch needle or have had a go before, this workshop is a great opportunity to learn a new technique, get creative and make something of your own.

About the facilitator
Pi Williams is a contemporary textile artist with a background in Fine Arts and experience across disciplines including watercolour, printmaking, and acrylic painting. Drawn to the tactile nature of fibre art, she now works primarily with yarn and wool, often hand-dyeing her own materials to create unique colour palettes. Combining wool with fabrics such as tulle, leather, and raffia, Pi creates expressive, textural works that blur the line between textile art and sculpture. Inspired by the coastal landscapes that surround her, Pi’s creative process involves gathering inspiration from nature and experimenting with colour, texture, and mixed media materials. Her work explores the possibilities of punch needle and hand stitching, resulting in distinctive and highly personal artworks. Pi’s work has been featured on Better Homes and Gardens, Peppermint Magazine, and Swell Magazine. She is also passionate about sharing her creative practice through intimate in-person and online workshops.
